November 11-12, the European Organisation Design Forum will hold its inaugural meeting in Frankfurt. The main purpose of the meeting will be to establish a community of organisation design practitioners (managers, internal and external consultants, and academics).
There will be sessions on some key organization design topic. Some examples:
- I will hold one session on High Level Organizational Architecture. My intent is to present the axiomatic approach that is the foundation for my textbook (see an earlier presentation here), and to invite the participants to discuss how to solve a specific client case.
- Paul Tolchinsky will speak about how to select the right organization design methodology in different circurmstances
- Christin Irwin will facilitate a session on accountabilities/layering/job desig
- Alastair Mitchell Baker & Saskia Thalheim will do a session on horizontal processes
Because the main purpose is to establish the community, time has been set aside to discuss the community’s purpose, mission, structure, etc. going forward. So if you want a chance to help shape this emerging community, you should consider participating.
